As regional trade and digital services begin to grow exponentially across Africa and Asia, greater cross-border financing will be needed to support all types of businesses growing abroad. These businesses range from small, medium to even large local businesses – both in Africa as well as in Asia. Yet banks are facing increasing pressures for better due diligence checks, reliable counterparty risk assessments and risk mitigation tools. However domestic financial markets are not well connected to each other, let alone across regions to address gaps in digital trust. This Roundtable will discuss potential innovative efforts by public and private sector entities across Asia and Africa, discover additional measures which would be beneficial and potential next steps for wider involvements with more partners.
